   A remark which is not true, intended to make someone believe it is true.

   Korean definition: 사실이 아닌 것을 사실인 것처럼 꾸며서 하는 말.

   • 그는 뻔뻔해서 태연한 얼굴로 거짓말을 한다.

     He is so shameless that he lies with a straight face.

   • 어머니가 내 성적에 실망하실까 봐 나는 거짓말을 할 수밖에 없었다.

     Afraid that my mother would be disappointed in my grades, I had no choice but to lie.
