   A pronoun used to indicate a place or direction that is far from both the speaker and listener.

   Korean definition: 말하는 사람과 듣는 사람으로부터 멀리 있는 곳이나 방향을 가리키는 말.

   • 저쪽에 있는 집이 보이니?

     Can you see the house over there?

   • 아이가 만든 비행기는 개울가 저쪽으로 날아갔다.

     The plane the child made flew off toward the far side of the stream.

   A pronoun used to indicate a persons or persons that are far from both the speaker and listener.

   Korean definition: 말하는 사람과 듣는 사람으로부터 멀리 있는 사람이나 사람들을 가리키는 말.

   • 저쪽이 유민이 남편이야.

     That person over there is Yumin's husband.

   • 저쪽은 무슨 얘기를 하는지 가서 들어 보자.

     Let's go over and hear what those people are talking about.

   A pronoun used to indicate multiple people including a person that is far from both the speaker and listener.

   Korean definition: 말하는 사람과 듣는 사람으로부터 멀리 있는 사람과 그 사람을 포함한 여러 사람을 가리키는 말.

   • 김 의원은 저쪽의 입장을 조리 있게 대변했다.

     Representative Kim coherently spoke for the other side's position.

   • 그는 저쪽이 원만한 협상을 원한다고 전해 왔다.

     He relayed that the other side wanted a smooth negotiation.

   other side

   A pronoun to indicate the opposite side of something separated by something else.

   Korean definition: 어떤 것을 사이에 둔 반대편을 가리키는 말.

   • 산 너머 저쪽은 곡식이 많이 나는 곳이다.

     The other side of the mountain is a place that produces a lot of grain.

   • 이 강의 저쪽에는 조그만 마을이 하나 있다.

     There is a small village on the other side of this river.
