   Korean definition: 원래 하나였던 것을 둘 이상의 부분이나 조각이 되게 하다.

     My mother split the bread into two big pieces and gave me one.

   • 나는 케이크를 열 조각으로 나누어 사람들에게 한 조각씩 주었다.

     I divided the cake into ten pieces and gave everyone a slice.

   To classify or group a mixture of many things according to a certain standard.

   Korean definition: 여러 가지가 섞인 것을 어떤 기준에 따라 둘 이상의 부류가 되게 구분하거나 분류하다.

   • 화상은 다친 정도에 따라 일 도, 이 도, 삼 도로 나누어 치료를 한다.

     Burns are classified into first, second, and third degree according to the severity of the injury for treatment.

   • 김 선생님은 학생들의 오답을 유형별로 나누어 학생들의 실수 유형을 분석했다.

     Mr. Kim sorted the students' wrong answers by type to analyze the kinds of mistakes they made.

   • 백을 십으로 나눈 몫은 십이다.

     A hundred divided by ten is ten.

   • 4를 10으로 나누면 0.4라는 몫이 나온다.

     Dividing 4 by 10 gives a quotient of 0.4.

   • 그들은 오늘 받은 일당을 사람 수대로 공평하게 나누어 가졌다.

     They split today's daily wages fairly according to the number of people.

   • 나는 동업을 해서 번 돈을 그와 똑같이 나누어 가졌기 때문에 우리는 어떤 불만도 없다.

     I split the money from our joint business equally with him, so neither of us has any complaints.
