     When the king passed away, the prince ascended the throne.

     Even after rising to a high government post, he always lived frugally.

   To use a means of transportation.

   Korean definition: 탈것에 타다.

   • 내가 버스에 오르자마자 버스가 출발했다.

     As soon as I got on the bus, it pulled away.

   • 민준이가 차에 오르더니 창문을 내리고 내게 인사를 건넸다.

     Minjun got into the car, rolled down the window, and said goodbye to me.

   To reach a certain degree.

   Korean definition: 어떤 정도에 이르다.

   • 김 선생의 사상은 이미 완성 단계에 올랐다.

     Mr. Kim's thought has already reached the stage of completion.

   • 이 작가의 책은 내기만 하면 베스트셀러에 오른다.

     Whenever this author publishes a book, it makes the best-seller list.
