   To accept someone as a new family member.

   Korean definition: 어떤 사람을 가족으로 받아들이다.

   • 삼촌이 외국 사람을 배우자로 맞이하였다.

     My uncle took a foreigner as his spouse.

   • 옛날에는 먼 친척의 아이를 양자로 맞이한 일들이 종종 있었다.

     In the old days, people sometimes took in a distant relative's child as an adopted son.
