   To move from one place to another across a river, bridge, road, etc.

   Korean definition: 강이나 다리, 도로 등을 사이에 두고 이쪽에서 저쪽으로 가다.

   • 우리는 조심스럽게 외나무다리를 건너갔다.

     We carefully crossed the single-log bridge.

   • 여자는 아이를 안고 개울을 건너가다 그만 물에 빠지고 말았다.

     The woman was crossing the stream with her child in her arms when she fell into the water.

   go over

   To move from here to there.

   Korean definition: 이쪽에서 저쪽으로 가다.

   • 지수는 미국으로 건너가 미국인과 결혼했다.

     Jisu went over to America and married an American.

   • 나는 윗마을에 건너가서 숙부님을 집으로 모시고 왔다.

     I went over to the upper village and brought my uncle home.
